Beds4U and Sustainability

At Beds4U we want to be a force for good and do right by our colleagues, customers and communities we touch, and the planet. We’ve made some progress but know there is more we can do - and we are committed to doing just that.

All our plastic at our warehouse is 100% renewable

All of our plastic bag packaging at our warehouse as well as 23 stores is made from compostable materials. We don't just stop there. Once we deliver the customer's items packaged in our sugar cane-derived plastic bags, we take back the plastic packaging to be recycled again. Hence, it has become yet another renewable plastic bag!

Ethical Wooden Materials

In general, wood is a sustainable material because of timber trees’ carbon sequestration potential and the carbon offset value at the end of the wood product’s life cycle. Our furniture is made from the most sustainable furniture wood which is highly available thanks to large populations and wide natural ranges. Also, they are strong and dense woods, making them durable materials for all types of furniture

Energy Efficiency

We continue to roll out low-energy lighting across our stores and offices. We are using all lighting across our sites with lowenergy LED bulbs that are around 50% more efficient. This helped us to reduce waste too, with the average LED bulb lifecycle being up to 5 times longer than other bulbs.

New Zealand made products

Beds4U is proudly NZ-owned and operated. We are dedicated to helping Kiwis bring back their dream sleep by providing a wide range of quality beds and mattresses made by Kiwis. We’re committed to a sustainable future in every activity we do.
